Heidi Barrett, a Napa Valley native from a winemaking family, blends art and science to create acclaimed wines. She honed her craft through varied experiences, from studying at UC Davis to internships in Germany and working at renowned wineries. In 1983, at just 25, she became a winemaker at Buehler Vineyards, improving wine quality and production. Since 1988, Heidi has worked with prestigious wineries like Screaming Eagle. Her philosophy focuses on crafting the best wines that showcase each vineyard’s unique character. In 1994, she started her own wine label, La Sirena, producing magical wines like Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Syrah. Over the years, Heidi has been recognized as a prominent wine judge, Napa Valley Wine Tech president, and a Wine Enthusiast cover star. Parker hailed her as a wine heroine and the “first lady of wine.”

In 2007, Heidi partnered with John Schwartz to create Au Sommet, a Napa Valley Cabernet Sauvignon sourced from mountain vineyards on Atlas Peak.
