Château Clinet, located in Pomerol, Bordeaux, predominantly plants Merlot with some Cabernet Sauvignon. Known for its highly regarded grand vin, the 1989 and 2009 vintages received perfect scores from Robert Parker. Since the Laborde family acquired the château in 1998, consultant Michel Rolland introduced modern winemaking techniques and increased the use of new oak. Today, an in-house team of winemakers manages the 11-hectare vineyard, one of Pomerol’s oldest, dating back to 1595. The estate practices sustainable farming, including manual sorting, grass cover between vines, and partial plowing by horse. The grand vin is fermented in stainless steel tanks and aged for about 16 months in barriques, with 75% new oak.
