JEROME CASTAGNIER BOURGOGNE 2018 ALIGOTE

The 0.74 acre plot for the Aligoté is located near the winery in Morey-St-Denis and was planted in 1929 and 1965. Integrated pest management and biodynamic practices employed in the vineyard, but no certification.

Jerome Castagnier chose a profession as a trumpeter in the Republican Guard rather than take the helm of the family domaine. In 2004, he left Paris and the army to return home to Morey-St-Denis. There he experienced the 2005 harvest alongside his father and grandfather. He is the fifth generation to run the domaine. Jules Séguin was the founder and through passage from the female line and sons-in-law, the family name has changed. Since 2004 the wines have been bottled as Domaine Castagnier.
