Ken Wright, with over 40 years of winemaking experience, believes that the source is everything. Located in Carlton, Oregon, Ken Wright Cellars focuses on producing wines that showcase the quality of world-class vineyard sites, with Pinot noir being the ultimate vehicle for expressing the location’s unique characteristics.

In 1986, Ken moved to McMinnville and founded Panther Creek Cellars, where he began focusing on vineyard-designate bottling. This approach became the core philosophy of Ken Wright Cellars, established in 1994. Today, they produce single-vineyard Pinot Noir from 13 sites in the Northern Willamette Valley.

Their wine-growing approach emphasizes stewardship over manipulation, using organic practices and advanced nutrition-based farming. By analyzing soil and vines, maintaining proper crop levels, sampling each vineyard, and hand-sorting each cluster, they ensure the fruit’s inherent character is revealed in the finished wine. Minimal handling preserves the wine’s natural essence.
