KISTLER CUVEE CATHLEEN 2019 CHARDONNAY

Kistler Vineyards is a family-run winery in the Russian River Valley known for its Burgundian-style Chardonnay and Pinot Noir. They source grapes from vineyards spanning western Sonoma to Carneros. These meticulously farmed vineyards yield around two and a half tons per acre. The Chardonnay and Pinot Noir are made using traditional methods, native yeasts, and French oak barrels crafted to their specifications. All wines are bottled unfiltered and unfined.

Their ten Chardonnays reflect regional and vineyard-specific qualities. All use the same heritage clone, emphasizing traditional techniques that highlight earthy complexities and minerality. Fermented in gravel floor barrel rooms, the Chardonnay ages sur lie for up to eighteen months.

For Pinot Noir, Kistler uses two low-yielding clones imported from a Burgundian Grand Cru vineyard. Fermented in open top fermenters, the free run juice ages in barrels for fourteen to eighteen months.
